Minimum Qualifications:

3 of the most recent 5 years’ experience in one of the following:

• Medical billing in a physician
• Medical billing in a hospital
• Pharmacy Technician

Proficient in word processing and PC based spreadsheet programs

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Current registry with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Desired Qualifications:

Infusion pharmacy experience

Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes

Desired Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Current license/eligibility by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Billing Specialist will work with the 340B Compliance officer and the billing department to ensure appropriate medication codes and modifiers are on medication claims (including specialty) prior to submission for processing.
