Minimum Qualifications for Surgical Technician:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology 
• Good communication skills
• Record keeping skills sufficent to manage required documentation
• Working knowledge of OR instruments, equipment and procedures

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

• American Heart Association BLS

• High School graduate or GED equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology

Performs a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for perioperative patients.  Prepares patient skin for surgery in accordance with IHS standards.  Positions patients according to type of surgery.  Maintains aseptic techniques.  Cleans, prepares, stores, distributes, and maintains various supplies, equipment and instruments to assure efficiency operation and patient safety in the operating room.
