Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy
Working knowledge of drug therapy and disease state management
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Current licensure (or licensure eligibility) by the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBoP)*
Parenteral licensure/eligibility in specified areas*
*Permanent licenses will be required within 2 months of entry into the job
Desired Qualifications
ASHP accredited residency or fellowship
Working knowledge of applicable pharmacy operations and procedures
Working knowledge of practice in specialty care areas

Preceptorship
Ensures appropriate, safe, effective, and efficient use of medications through the application of pharmaceutical principles in order to provide optimal patient outcomes. Consults with physicians and professional staff, monitors and evaluates drug therapy, and suggests alternate therapy as appropriate. Promotes understanding of drug therapy and disease state management by providing education to health care professionals, patients, and the public.
