Minimum Qualifications: 

Associate Degree in Nursing

Knowledge of Medicare and other reimbursement methods

One of the following:

• Two years of practice as a registered professional nurse in rehabilitation nursing within the last five years
• One year of practice as a registered professional nurse in rehabilitation nursing and one year of advanced study (beyond baccalaureate) in nursing within the last 5 years

Licensure, Registration, Certification: 

BLS

One of the following:

• Current Alabama RN license
• Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama*

*Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama

Desired Qualifications: 

Considerable knowledge of acute care med-surg nursing and ICU level of care

Knowledge of LTAC, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Hospice and Medicare admission criteria

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN)

Evaluates patient referrals for LTAC admission according to standardized criteria and coordinates specialized activities/services/equipment to achieve efficient and effective outcomes after transfer. Communicates with insurance provider and validates benefits as necessary.
